Results of the North European Zone Rallycross
Championship have been declared provisional
Pending the outcome of a meeting in
Copenhagen on October 14/15.
The move to delay confirmation of the
Results came after a troubled final roundof õ
the championship in Taali, Estonia, on September
23/24.
“The decision to accept this event was
done only couple of weeks ago [before the
event],because the quality of the circuit,
safety and stadium itself was not in accordance
with NEZ demands and spirit,”said NEZ
President Juris Bogdanovics.”The organiser

But, sorry to say,the managing of the event,
The responsibility of stewards, was far from
the normal level.The regulations were
not followed or mixed… because of the there
were many misunderstanding. The day ended
in the late night because of protests (verbal and
written) and hard discussions. I will report in
detail about this event at the NEZ meeting in
Copenhagen.”
At present the highest scoring driver from
the four classes in the championship is Lithuanian
Linus Norkas who finished second in all
four events with his Divison One Escort .Finnish
Supernational driver Silvo Viitanen (Volvo S40)
Accumulated 60 points andis best of the ‘Open`
class while Latvian Janis AleksejevsAppears best
of the ‘Fast 1600` competitors in a VW Golf
and compatriot Kristaps Danbis is ‘Super 2000`
champ in waiting with his Smart Road.
